The NJCA Symposium 2026 – Memory, Trauma and Evidence and the Courts examines the intersection of memory science, trauma research, and legal proceedings. It brings together researchers in cognitive psychology, neuroscience, traumatology, legal scholarship, judges, lawyers, and victim advocates to discuss memory-based evidence, traumatic memories, expert testimony, courtroom practice, and trauma-informed procedures. The program includes plenary and streamed/concurrent sessions, the John Doyle Oration, and dinner on Friday 21 August delivered by the Honourable Justice Robert Beech-Jones, High Court of Australia.
